We serve the entire Treasure Valley with HVAC Services ranging from water heater installation to new heat pumps, furnaces, and air conditioning units!
However, any company can brag about its services, so we decided to share a little about ourselves below!
How Top Shelf Heating & Cooling Started
As fathers, husbands, and business owners, we – Kevin and Kenny – co-founded Top Shelf Heating & Cooling here in Meridian, Idaho, almost a decade ago! But this didn’t start with a polished business plan or significant investment…
It started with two brothers who had a shared belief:
We could serve the people of Boise and Meridian better
Kenny was a skilled tech. I was in remodeling sales and project management, ready for a new path. And what did we keep seeing?
Customers are being pressured into new HVAC systems… only to be forgotten entirely once the job is done. There was
- No follow-up
- No warranty help
- No real care
We hated that and still do. So we started Top Shelf right out of our house — Kenny handling installs and service, me running the business side of things!
No big office. No fancy trucks
Just honest work, fair pricing, and care that doesn’t stop after the invoice is paid! Now, years later, we’ve grown into a tight-knit team with a real office, loyal customers, and a reputation we’re proud of.
We check the ductwork. We respond to emergency calls. We register your warranties. We actually call you back.
And we take care of our techs, too — giving them the consistency and support to build great lives for their families

- We do what is right every time. If a job warrants a repair, we don’t push you, as an owner of a new HVAC system, to get one when you don’t need it.
Paul Roll, HVAC journeyman, and Austin Halverson from Top Shelf found a lot of different problems with the HVAC I had. We discussed the options and we made the decision to go with train heat pump with a new back-up furnace. They gutted all the old furnace equipment out, cleaned all the vents, removed a blockage limiting 80% of air flow to half of the house, brought in three air conditioners for us to use in the meantime and returned the next day to install the new heat pump and back-up furnace.
We have a 10-year warranty now. They were very informative and answered all my questions. From the moment the old furnace broke, they made sure our house was cool throughout the process. They were very friendly, knowledgeable and professional, so I can't rate them highly enough!
Don't run into the problem I had; call Top Shelf and get it done right the first time.
Chris and Steven also were able to come by and remove a ball from one of my ducts that my puppy managed to lose down it and they were very prompt and efficient.
All of my interactions with Top Shelf have been fantastic and I will continue to use them going forward.
